Livestream of the Wedding

by Gwen Bell on March 5, 2009

We’ll stream starting at 3p on MST, March 6, 2009. See you tomorrow!

1 Month Until The Wedding!

by Gwen Bell on February 6, 2009

The wedding is one month away. And that is boggling my mind.

I guess I’ve felt pretty chill about the whole thing. It helps that Joel’s mom has been tremendously calm, reassuring, cool, collected and thorough about every aspect of planning this. If she weren’t her calm, collected self I’d probably be spazzing about now.

Updates:

The invites are out (we emailed them, there are no paper invites going on. Save a tree, brides-to-be).

Thanks to more than 2,000 of you voting for us, we won 4th in the Trees Instead contest. A tree will be planted in the name of each of our in-person guests. Thank you!

We’re going to live-stream video during the day. That means if you can’t physically be here for the wedding, you can still watch it. And participate remotely. We’ll have comments off on the live-stream in order to keep, ahem, naughtiness to a minimum. We’ll instead use a hashtag for Twitter to allow virtual guests to talk with us.

The stream will be hosted here on the site. Details closer to time.

Can’t wait to spend time with you all, virtually or in person. It’s going to be way awesome.

Love by the Numbers

by Gwen Bell on January 8, 2009

love-gjcloseup1

Joel and I were salsa dancing earlier this week when we he turned his iPhone towards me. Someone named Pete Warden had run the numbers on our relationship - the Twitter numbers - and statistically quantified our love.

Just about the most geeksweet thing I’ve ever seen. Thank you, Pete! It made us smile.

Hotels We Heart

by Gwen Bell on December 30, 2008

Need a hotel in Boulder or Denver? Here are some starting places. All of the festivities will happen in Downtown Boulder — feel free to stay wherever is right for you.

Downtown Boulder

Hotel Boulderado

Art deco hotel extravaganza fun. What more can we say? Oh, that they are celebrating their 100th year in 2009? That’s pretty cool, too.

Boulder Outlook

St Julien

The very centrally located Julien is a favorite for out-of-town business types. A beautiful spa, gorgeous fireplace and great specials in the bar and restaurant make this a classic choice.

Quality Inn Boulder

Boulder Marriott

laurathemum, a friend on Twitter recommended the Marriott saying, “Marriott in the Village in Boulder was nice…super accommodating staff, close to fun stuff.”

The Bradley Boulder Inn

Kath1213 recommended The Bradley on Twitter, saying, “Other than a teensy tiny bathroom, this place rocks!”

Denver

Springhill Suites by Marriott

The Brown Palace

Magnolia Hotel

The Curtis

Looks pretty. Beautiful website and that matters, right?
